I pretty much jumped out of my skin when Anna and Alex first enquired about using me as their celebrant at their fabbo nuptials at one of the country’s most exclusive venues.
After spending a fair bit of time in the Wairarapa, I had always wondered what the magical Wharekauhau Lodge down the road from my own wedding location looked like – so I may or may not have squealed with delight after visiting.
Anna and Alex’s wedding day was a true fairytale; magic blue skies, no crazy winds (famous in that part of the coast!) and a wonderful gathering of those close to them to celebrate their big day.
Venue: Wharekauhau Lodge, Wairarapa
Photographers/Video: Dodge and Burn
Highlight: Seeing Anna’s huge smile as she walked towards her groom, Alex. And that dress! Swoon!
Lowlight: Leaving. Driving away, I actually pulled my car over and got out to look back on the incredible setting, just to take in in one last time. Will probably be another 30 years before I’m back there – but I hope not!
We were really lucky to have Greer as our celebrant, she was perfect at providing us with guidance and tips to help the day run smoothly which we needed, as well as helping us personalise the day in a way that suited us.
Greer is also a lovely, friendly person who immediately puts people at ease.
She made our ceremony go perfectly, is a wonderful public speaker, and looks great in the wedding pics!
